LG Chemical of South Korea may postpone the start-up of its new isopropanol unit
according to reports, LG Chemical of South Korea said that the start-up of its new 50000 ton/year isopropanol (IPA) unit in Lishui may be postponed until the end of 2012. The acetone isopropanol plant was originally planned to be put into operation in early November, but the start-up plan was postponed for one and a half months because "it is not predictable that the world's leading equipment manufacturers have been invited to participate in the bidding". LG Chemical is the largest isopropanol producer in South Korea since the beginning of this century. At present, it operates a 45000 T/a propylene process unit believed by Johnson Matthey, and another 55000 T/a acetone process unit is also in Lishui
